If you weigh more than 300 pounds, look for a walking pad rated for at least 400 pounds, with a wide belt and a brushless motor. Many popular pads are rated for only 242 to 265 pounds, which leaves no margin at all.
Our top pick is the Merach NovaWalk W50, about $300. It’s rated for 400 pounds, has a brushless motor with a continuous power rating, a 41.3-by-16.5-inch belt, and a 12% motorized incline. The UREVO SpaceWalk 5L is also rated for 400 pounds for about $270. If you want a slim pad for a standing desk, the UREVO CyberPad for Office is 400-pound-rated and just 6.3 inches tall. If you want a handrail to hold, the UREVO FoldiMix 5L is a folding treadmill with a desk and a 400-pound rating.

Best Overall: Merach NovaWalk W50
Best overall for heavy users
Merach NovaWalk W50
A brushless walking pad with a 400 lb rating, a 41.3-inch belt, and a 12% motorized incline.
The NovaWalk W50 is the walking pad we’d pick for a heavier user. It’s rated for 400 pounds, and it backs that up with the spec that matters most for sustained loads: Merach lists the brushless motor at 1.25 HP continuous, not just a peak figure, and says it can run for up to 10 hours without stopping.
Its 41.3-by-16.5-inch belt is one of the longest and widest on a walking pad, which gives you more room to place your feet without stepping near the edges. The 12% motorized incline is a bonus: it lets you work harder at a slow, steady pace instead of walking faster. At about 68 pounds and 6.1 inches tall, it’s heavy and a little tall, so make sure your standing desk rises high enough.
If you need more coverage, Merach’s UltraWalk W60 costs about $350 and has a two-year warranty. Merach rates it at 400 pounds peak but 330 pounds sustained, so the W50 is the better match for long daily walks above 330 pounds. Our Merach walking pad review compares all three Merach pads.
Best Value: UREVO SpaceWalk 5L
Best value 400 lb pad
UREVO SpaceWalk 5L
A 6.1-inch walking pad with a brushless motor, 9% auto incline, and 400 lb rating for about $270.
The SpaceWalk 5L is the cheapest 400-pound-rated walking pad we cover, at about $270 on UREVO’s site. It has a 2.5 HP brushless motor, a 9% auto incline, and a 6.1-inch frame that slides under most standing desks.
Buy it from UREVO. UREVO’s own product page rates it for 400 pounds, while the Amazon listing says 300. Its belt is a little narrower than the Merach’s, at 15.8 inches. Read our UREVO SpaceWalk 5L review for more.
Best Slim Pad: UREVO CyberPad for Office
Best slim pad
UREVO CyberPad for Office
A 6.3-inch-tall walking pad with dual brushless motors, a 14% auto incline, and a 400 lb rating.
The CyberPad for Office is built for a standing desk. Its dual brushless motors and 400-pound rating fit in a frame just 6.3 inches tall, with an open front that leaves room for your feet under the desk. The walking area is 39.4 by 16.5 inches, the same width as the Merach’s.
It also has the steepest incline here, 14%, and UREVO rates it at about 35 dB, which makes it one of the quietest walking pads you can buy. It’s the most expensive pick, at about $480 on UREVO’s site. See our CyberPad for Office review.
Best With a Handrail: UREVO FoldiMix 5L
Best with a handrail
UREVO FoldiMix 5L
A folding treadmill with a handrail, built-in desk, 9% auto incline, 7.6 mph top speed, and 400 lb rating.
If you’d feel steadier with something to hold, the FoldiMix 5L is a folding treadmill with a height-adjustable handrail and a built-in desk, so you don’t need a standing desk at all. It has dual brushless motors, a 9% auto incline, and a top speed of 7.6 mph.
UREVO rates it for 400 pounds at regular walking speeds and notes that it tested 300 pounds at its maximum speed, so heavier users should stick to walking paces. UREVO lists it at $500 but applies a discount at checkout that brings it to about $350. It weighs about 65 pounds and folds upright for storage. Read our UREVO FoldiMix 5L review.
Weight Ratings of the Walking Pads We Cover
| Weight rating | Walking pads |
|---|---|
| 450 lb (listed) | TRAILVIBER Walking Pad |
| 400 lb | Merach NovaWalk W50, UREVO SpaceWalk 5L, UREVO CyberPad for Office, UREVO FoldiMix 5L |
| 400 lb peak, 330 lb sustained | Merach UltraWalk W60 |
| 350 lb | UREVO CyberPad for Home, Merach W50 Lite |
| 330 lb | Akluer Walking Pad |
| 300 lb | DeerRun Z10, Superun, GoYouth, UREVO Strol 2E Pro, Redliro |
| 242 to 265 lb | WalkingPad, UREVO SpaceWalk E1L, Yagud, UREVO Strol 2E, UREVO SpaceWalk 3S, UPLIFT Inclining Walking Pad, Elseluck, Goplus 2-in-1 |
The UREVO SpaceWalk E1L Pro is a special case: UREVO’s product page says 350 pounds, but its manual says 242, so we wouldn’t count on more than 242. The TRAILVIBER has the highest listed rating of any pad we cover, 450 pounds, with a 12% auto incline.
What to Look for if You’re Over 300 Pounds
- Leave headroom on the weight rating. A rating is a maximum, not a comfortable working load. A common rule of thumb is to choose a pad rated at least 50 pounds above your weight, so a 320-pound walker should look at 400-pound pads.
- Check for a sustained or continuous rating. Some makers quote a peak load or peak horsepower. Merach’s W60 is the clearest example: 400 pounds peak, 330 sustained. A continuous motor rating, like the W50’s 1.25 HP, says more about long daily walks than a peak figure.
- Prefer a brushless motor. Brushless motors have no brushes to wear out, tend to run cooler and quieter, and are standard on every 400-pound pad here.
- Get a wider, longer belt. A 16-inch or wider belt and a 39-inch or longer deck give you room to walk without your feet drifting toward the frame. The narrowest pads are about 15 inches wide.
- Stick to walking speeds. Walking pads are built for walking. If you want to jog, look at a folding treadmill like the FoldiMix 5L, and note that even it is rated lower at top speed.
- Consider a handrail. A handrail helps with balance when getting on and off and during long walks. Most walking pads have none.
- Mind the height and weight of the pad. The sturdiest pads are 6 to 6.3 inches tall and weigh 50 to 70 pounds, so you’ll need a standing desk that rises a little higher and a bit more effort to move them. Our desk height calculator shows how high your desk needs to go.
Which Walking Pad Should You Buy?
- For most heavier users, buy the Merach NovaWalk W50 for its 400-pound rating, continuous-rated motor, and large belt.
- To spend the least on a 400-pound pad, buy the UREVO SpaceWalk 5L from UREVO.
- For a slim pad under a standing desk, buy the UREVO CyberPad for Office.
- If you want a handrail and a built-in desk, buy the UREVO FoldiMix 5L.

Walking Pads for Heavy People FAQ
What is the best walking pad for heavy people?
The Merach NovaWalk W50, rated for 400 pounds with a continuous-rated brushless motor and a 41.3-by-16.5-inch belt, for about $300.
What is the highest weight capacity walking pad?
Among the pads we cover, the TRAILVIBER lists 450 pounds. Merach and UREVO’s best pads are rated for 400 pounds.
Can a 300 lb person use a walking pad?
Yes, but choose one rated for at least 350 to 400 pounds. Many walking pads are rated for only 242 to 265 pounds.
How accurate are walking pad weight ratings?
They’re the maker’s figures and can differ between a store and its Amazon listing. Some makers give a lower sustained rating than the headline number, so read the fine print.
Is a walking pad or a treadmill better for heavy people?
For walking, a 400-pound walking pad is fine. If you want to jog or need a handrail, a folding treadmill like the UREVO FoldiMix 5L is the better fit.
What happens if you exceed a walking pad’s weight limit?
The motor, belt, and deck wear faster and may overheat, and you can void the warranty. Stay below the rating with some margin.
