The Bandit Superbeam Next Gen 7 Pocket Half Tights solve the problem I care most about on a long run: carrying my phone and gels. Mine stay locked in with no bounce at all. The tights also fit true to size and are very comfortable.
The short answer: at $118, price is my biggest complaint, but I’d buy them again. If you’re tired of a bouncing phone, these are worth it.

Bandit Superbeam Half Tights Review: Quick Verdict
These are my answer to the question of what to wear when I need to carry things and still run comfortably. I’ve used them on long runs and hard workouts, and they do both well. There are cheaper half tights, but it’s hard to argue with how well these work.

How Well Do the Pockets Work?
This is the reason to buy them. There are seven pockets in total: two for a phone, four for gels, and one zippered pocket at the back.
I regularly run with my phone and gels in them, and both stay locked in with no bounce at all. That’s what makes them work so well on long runs, when you’re carrying fuel like Maurten Gel 100 and don’t want to think about it for hours.
Fit and Comfort
The Superbeam half tights fit true to size in my usual medium, and they’re very comfortable. The compression feels good, I haven’t had chafing, and they stay put.
Bandit uses grip tape at the hem to prevent ride-up, and double-layered fabric at the center-front for coverage.
What I Use Them For
I wear mine on long runs and hard workouts. Long runs are where the pockets matter most, while hard workouts are where you want everything held still. They’ve handled both.
For tops, I also own the Bandit Shredder Shorty Race Singlet for hard workouts and the Bandit Micromesh Run Tee for easy runs in warm weather.
Are the Bandit Superbeam Half Tights Worth $118?
For me, yes. I’d rather they cost less, but I’d buy them again, because they’ve eliminated the problem of carrying my phone and gels on a run.
Buy them if you carry a phone and fuel on long runs, you like the feel of compression, and you’ve struggled with bounce in other shorts.
Skip them if you prefer loose shorts, you rarely carry anything, or you’d rather not spend $118.
